Are You Ready When You Show Up?

On the surface this seems like a very odd question. I can almost hear you saying “Of course! What do you mean? Where are you going with this?”

Calm down, please, let me explain.

Have you ever been to a scheduled meeting where there’s always that ONE person who is never prepared? In fact they don’t have a clue as to what the agenda is. Do you find that frustrating and a colossal waste of your time? Or how about the chronic late-comer who never has his/her figures ready on time so you can compile the monthly report? Was that person ready when they showed up for work?

While showing up may be a good thing, in itself it’s not enough. There is a difference between showing up at work and showing up for work. You can show up at work and don’t have a clue as to how the day will unfold. However, if you show up ready for work you know exactly what is going to happen and when. You know which tasks are your responsibility, which tasks are to be delegated and to whom. If there is a meeting or other event that day, you are prepared. At the end of the day, you have a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Life follows the same pattern; yet very few are ready when they show up for life. When you awaken each morning, do you plan your day? Or do you just let the day happen? If you don’t follow your own plans, you will invariably be following someone else’s. When that happens you find yourself chasing one crisis after another, which oftentimes have nothing to do with you. At the end of the day you feel unfulfilled, frustrated and even angry.

If that has been happening to you it’s time to break the cycle. My latest course: “How to Master Your Life—One Step at a Time” is structured to provide you with a progressive blueprint to show you the relationship between your plans, your schedule and your goals, both long-, short-, and interim-term ones.

Most likely you are fed up with a chaotic existence. If that is so, I know how you feel. I once felt the same way. If managing your time and achieving your goals are challenging for you, I will show you how to overcome these challenges while allowing you more free time with your friends and family with the ultimate outcome of simplifying your life and feeling less stressed. I’ll also show you how you can provide the incentive of rewarding yourself along the way. We know that as instant gratification!
