Is Your Task List Working Against You?

Some would find this question very strange. They’d conclude that the premise of task lists is to work in your favor, making your life easier. While that may be true to an extent, have you found yourself pushing uncompleted tasks to the next day because you could not complete them on the day you intended? If that’s true, then it’s possible that the tasks you intended to complete on Monday could still appear on your task list on Friday.

Sadly, this happens all too often. If you believe in the adage “Time is Money”, then you can see where doing this could be costing you and your business money. Since the object of being in business is making money and not losing it, in this scenario your task list would be working against you. It is imperative then, that you find a solution to this problem since it affects your bottom line.

There are several myths to having and executing a task list. We’ll consider one of them. It is believed that when you make a list, as you complete the tasks on the list, you cross that task off. Unfortunately, the tasks that are not completed are included on the following day’s list in addition to the list of tasks for that day. Eventually, the list is going to be overwhelming and nothing will be accomplished. Have you found that to be true?

The truth is: For a task list not to be working against you there must be an association with something more significant, or it has little value and there is no real sense of satisfaction. That explains why most people find themselves creating a new list just about every day. This practice has become the fabric of most people’s lives to the extent that it can be likened to the proverbial hamster wheel.

How does one break the cycle? You break the cycle by anchoring your task list to something more significant so that the result is having satisfaction and accomplishment.

In my 8-week program “How to Master Your Life—One Step at a Time” I show you how easy it is to break the cycle and what it means to have anchored tasks. You create and develop a blueprint for designing your life the way you want it, instead of living by default.

You will recognize why what you have been doing has been unsuccessful and what you need to do to correct it. You will also be able to identify the “bridge” that will get you from where you are in life, to the results you desire.

If the above scenario sounds like your own experience, then let’s talk. I encourage you to visit http://coachflo.co/apply and schedule an appointment with me. Let’s talk about what’s happening with you that’s deterring you from moving forward and see how we can make it better.

I’m looking forward to speaking with you.
